This Saturday a number of organisations will be participating in what should prove an interesting event in Mayo.

Birdwatch Ireland, the Irish Peatland Conservation Council and others will be present from 10 am to 4 pm at the Pontoon Bridge Hotel, informing visitors of how they might be able to help them survey Irish wildlife. This is a free event and all are welcome to simply drop by and see if you can help any one of the organisations present in their work.

We in Mayo know we have fantastic outdoors spaces, from our giant bogs to seashore and lakes, cliffs and plantation forests. Getting out, walking or cycling and observing animals such as Red Squirrel, Grey Seal, Pine Marten and others is a great way to spend some time – even in deepest winter.

Organisations present at Pontoon Bridge Hotel this Saturday include :

Birdwatch Ireland

IPCC

Bat Conservation Ireland

Irish Wildlife Trust

Irish Whale and Dolphin Group

Come along and see what might interest you.
