Walking Van Gogh’s Provence
A magnificent week of walking between olive trees and vineyards, following the footsteps of Vincent Van Gogh.
We hike from Arles and the Camargue, across the Alpilles range of low limestone hills, to St. Rémy de Provence and the St. Paul de Mausole asylum, through a magical landscape where Vincent spent two years and produced some of his most renowned paintings.
Among his extraordinary works from that time are masterpieces of wheat fields, cypress trees, olive groves and more.

Location : The southern French département of Bouches du Rhône, located between Marseille and Montpellier, in The Parc Naturel Régional des Alpilles.
Level : Moderate, with only very occasional short stretches of tougher inclines and declines.
Distance Walked Per Day : From 11km to 24km. The longest day can be shortened through a taxi ride for part of it.
Duration : 8 days, 7 nights, 6 days of walking.

A beautiful week of moderate level hiking through blissful Provence landscapes.
From the wonderful compact city of Arles, we hike the low limestone hills of Les Alpilles, before reaching the charming town of St. Rémy de Provence, where Van Gogh spent time in St. Paul de Mausole, the former monastery turned into a psychiatric clinic.
We discover the jewel that is the hilltop village of Les Baux de Provence, while rambling through vineyards and olive domaines.

Prices for this new 2026 tour are as follows.
€ 1,995 per person sharing
€ 2,450 per single room booking (limited number available)

A deposit of €400 per person by bank transfer (IBAN) is required to provisionally reserve your place, subject to minimum numbers as required, availability and further payments later.
Full tour details will be outlined in the documentation forwarded to you.
Included : All transfers within France, seven nights B&B, 2 sit-down lunches, 4 packed lunches, 7 dinners, luggage transfers, scheduled site visits, along with full guiding throughout.
Both shared and single room bookings are available for this week.
Not included : Your return flight to France, lunches on days 1 and 8, unscheduled visits, your beverages and miscellaneous purchases.
Please note that all tours are subject to minimum numbers and the payment of a deposit does not guarantee that the tour will take place. If it does not proceed, your deposit will be returned in full.
Do please note that this is a moderate-level hiking tour, so you need to be reasonably fit and have sufficient stamina for consecutive days out hiking in the countryside.
You must have your own travel and health insurance.
