JOMO Weekend is three days of fabulous, relaxed walking in northwest Mayo, taking place at the end of August.
For this Joy of Missing Out event, we get back to loving the landscape around us, enjoying our walks, company and chats and not feeling the need to Google everything … Your phone is your camera, but no longer your endless web browsing master!

Location : The Mullet Peninsula occupies the far NW corner of Mayo – a spectacular landscape dominated by the wild North Atlantic, boasting high sea cliffs, low-lying field systems, seemingly never-ending beaches and stunning offshore islands.
Level : Easy to moderate.
Duration : Thursday evening to Sunday afternoon (3 nights; 2.5 days walking)
Description :
Day One : We gather in Béal an Mhuirthead (Belmullet) in early evening, before continuing to our excellent B&B at Blacksod (An Fód Dubh) for dinner.
Day Two : Day trip by boat out to the wonderful, evocative Iniskea North Island, deserted since the 1930s and now home to seabirds, early Christian remains and wildlife (5km loop walk).
Day Three : Walking The Mullet Peninsula, with its fabulous beaches and views to take the breath away. Visits along the way to a ruined medieval abbey in a stunning location, a holy well by the sea and more (20km linear walk).
Day Four : Having departed our B&B, we take in the wonderful cliff-top walk at Ceann Iorrais (Erris Head) on our way home (5km loop walk).
For this walking weekend, we stay in one of the finest B&Bs on the Wild Atlantic Way, where we enjoy 3 nights B&B, packed lunches each day and three dinners. It happens to be located right beside a great West of Ireland pub.

A deposit of €100 per person is required to hold your booking, subject to further payments by bank transfer (IBAN), details of which will be outlined in the weekend’s documentation forwarded to you.
Please pay Euro 200 deposit now and the rest by bank transfer, for which details will be forwarded nearer the event.
As of July 8th, I have one room left, for either a couple or two friends sharing. Unfortunately, I have no more single occupancy available.
Included : Three nights B&B, three packed lunches, three dinners, along with full guiding throughout and the boat trip out to Iniskea. A magical weekend in Mayo!
Not included : Drinks and miscellaneous purchases.
Please note : JOMO Weekend is exactly what it says on the tin. It’s about the joy of missing out. This is a weekend for you to switch off and tune out. Everybody who attends is kindly requested to bide by this request. No Google, no Facebook, no news… Trust me; you’ll love it!
